Widgets are a useful way to keep track of your tasks when the Reminders app isn’t open. You can use them on the home screen, lock screen, and Today view of your iPhone or iPad, as well as in the Notification Center on your Mac. Here’s how they work.

  1. Right-click anywhere on your desktop.
  2. Choose “Edit widgets…”
  3. Search for the Reminders widget.
  4. Choose the size you want and drag it onto your desktop.
  5. Position the widget by dragging and dropping.
  6. Change the list on the widget by right-clicking it and selecting “Edit Reminders.”

The Reminders widget is interactive. You can complete a task by clicking on tasks in the widget without opening the Reminders app.

Add Widgets to the Notification Center

  1. Click the clock on the menu bar of your Mac to open the Notification Center.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Notification Center and select “Edit Widgets.”
  3. Search for the Reminders widget.
  4. Choose the size you want and drag it onto your desktop.
  5. Position the widget by dragging and dropping.
  6. Change the list on the widget by right-clicking it and selecting “Edit Reminders.”
